Lars Holmkvist
President, International

Lars Holmkvist was named President, International, in May 2008 with responsibility for Europe, Japan, and Asia Pacific. In this role, Mr. Holmkvist directs and oversees the group's international operations outside of the Americas, including geographies in the Middle East and Africa. He manages an organization of approximately 1,600 employees and reports to Mark Stevenson, President of Applied Biosystems.

Mr. Holmkvist joined the company in September 2004 as President, Europe, and subsequently resumed responsibility for Japan in 2007. He brings over 20 years of medical technology sales and management experience. In the past he served as Vice President of Vascular and Cardiac Surgery, Western Europe for Medtronic.

Prior to his position at Medtronic, Mr. Holmkvist was Vice President Vascular for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for Boston Scientific. Earlier in his career, Mr. Holmkvist held executive positions with Pharmacia Hospital Care, and in European Marketing for Becton Dickinson.
