Laura Lauman Laura Lauman was named Division President, Proteomics and Small Molecules Division in 2004. In this role, Ms. Lauman is responsible for defining and executing the strategic direction and delivering the P&L for this division. The Proteomics and Small Molecule business is focused on developing leading edge systems and technologies, driven by proteomics and small molecule customer needs that meet corporate growth and profit objectives. In her role, Ms. Lauman is responsible for the management of the mass spectrometry, protein sequencing, peptide synthesis, biochromatography, and proteomics reagents (ICAT/iTRAQ chemistries) product lines. These technologies are used for life science research in the analysis of proteins, peptides, and small molecules for academic research, drug discovery and development. In addition, she is responsible for the management and is a board member of the Applied Biosystems/MDS SCIEX Joint Venture. The DPSM business has three primary business operations located in Framingham, Toronto, and Foster City. Ms. Lauman has responsibility for managing the global resources associated with the business, including product management/marketing, strategic planning and business operations, product research and development, and sales and technical support. Previously, Ms. Lauman was Vice President, Discovery Proteomics and Small Molecules since 2002. She joined Applied Biosystems in 1988 as a Chromatography Product Manager and has held roles of increasing responsibility, including becoming the LC/MS Business Unit Director in 1996. Ms. Lauman became a Vice President in 1999 while managing the LC/MS business. Prior to working for Applied Biosystems, Ms. Lauman worked for Waters Associates. Ms. Lauman received her bachelor's of science in Biology in 1979 from Boston College and attended Babson College Executive Program in 1994. Ms. Lauman currently serves on the ALSSA (Analytic and Life Science Systems Association) Board of Directors. |
