Step 1: Sample from Colony
After growing a culture of the bacteria or fungi you want to identify, sample cells from the colony.
Step 2: Extract DNA
Extract DNA from the bacteria or fungi in the colony or culture. The ideal colony size is 1-2mm for bacteria and 3mm for fungi.
